Stick a FORK in the word custom and go with Adaptable…..Part 2
Unrestricted Growth: Building Systems that Evolve with You
Day 1 – Yea, we have a new system to help us with “X”
Day 180 – The team says that they have to adjust the way they do some of the tasks. We need to make some changes to the system to get the most out of it. It doesn’t fit now we had to make some changes to our procedures.
This happens in every business out there, and we have all been in the meeting where we hear pitch after pitch about products that can be “Everything you need.” Companies are looking for a solution that gives them efficiencies in any area and then use it to capitalize on opportunities. This could be a quicker turnaround time on products to clients or a centralized place for their information so that better decisions can be made. Your company’s growth is restricted due to the fact that the creators of the system only know how they see the problem and the future outcome. Systems can solve all the pain points that their creators see, deduce, or survey but are rarely built by an actual real life user.
There are always parts of a system that need adjustment. It isn’t always about the system as a whole. It can be parts that you want to work more inline with your team. You end up at another fork in the road.
My wife and I wanted to build a house and we wanted it to be custom. We wanted specific things to be in our house. We spent months meeting with builders that advertised that they were custom home builders. We would mention that we wanted a specific tile and they would tell us that we had to pick from their menu and the same goes for everything. Custom should mean no restrictions and right now custom is more like “lots of options” than truly making something for a client.
At BlueQuill Solutions we believe that you need to have unrestricted growth. We partner with our clients beyond a weekly update call to ensure that the system built is for them. We want to share in your growth and create systems that put you in the best place to be successful. It isn’t custom if you can’t do exactly what you want. We want to give you the freedom to make the decisions about your business and be there when you have to adjust to new challenges with clients and with staff.
